About us
We're a London-based specialist in polished cementitious floor overlays. Small enough to care about your floor personally. Long enough in the tooth to know what goes wrong with floors — and to design most of it out before the pour.
The story
Mark Brooks, managing director, got into flooring straight from school — industrial floors for large pharmaceutical and food production companies. That's a proper education. A floor in a pharma plant takes forklifts, wash-downs and auditors without complaint, or it gets ripped up and done again at someone's expense. You learn quickly what a floor costs when it's specified by someone who has never watched one fail.
From there he moved onto bigger construction sites as a project manager, flooring large-scale projects such as Terminal 5 at Heathrow and a long list of hotels. Big sites teach you sequencing, planning and the real price of a floor that arrives late or doesn't match the drawings.
Then Holland, working with resin suppliers. Time on the material side changes how you judge a product. You stop reading the marketing and start reading the data sheet.
In 2007 he started Puur Floors, to make the floor he'd spent a career looking for: a genuine cementitious overlay, hand-finished to a real polished sheen, and thin enough — 4–12mm, with 6mm the sweet spot — to go where ripping out a screed can't. That floor is Puur PSR.

Ethical values
Every flooring company says it's honest. Here is ours in writing, so you can hold us to it.
We'd rather lose a job than sell you the wrong floor. If your substrate needs sorting first, we'll say so. If PSR isn't right for the use, we'll say that too — and often suggest what is.
A floor that lasts decades is the most sustainable thing we can make. A thinner build-up means less material mixed, moved and replaced — good for the programme and easier on the planet.
Floors are laid by people. Our crews are trained, treated and paid properly, and it shows in the finish. Rushed labour makes rushed floors, and we don't rush ours.
No invented statistics and no guarantees physics won't sign off. Our technical sheet says what the material does and is honest about what it doesn't. Hairline variation comes with a hand-finished floor — we tell you before you order, not after.
Working with us
Architects, designers and contractors get a specification partner, not a brochure. We help with build-ups, substrates, movement joints and programme; we send stocked samples of the ten standard colours quickly; and for anything else, we make physical samples in your RAL or NCS colour for a small charge, credited against your order.
Lead times are honest and stated up front. And the person who answers your enquiry is the person who has been doing this since he left school — so the answer usually comes faster than expected.
