In brief

Know your sealer before you reach for the cleaner. The right care depends on the overlay, finish and protection on your floor. Get the instructions for your installed system, rather than borrowing a cleaning recipe from the internet.

What should you receive at handover?

Ask for the product and sealer names, approved cleaners, dilution and equipment. You also need to know when cleaning and normal use can start. Keep those instructions somewhere the cleaning team can find them.

PSR is vulnerable to staining until sealed, as our technical data explains. Touch-dry does not mean ready for everything. Follow the installation team’s handover instructions.

How should you manage grit and everyday dirt?

Start by keeping loose grit off the floor. Ask us which vacuum heads, mops or machine pads suit your system, and agree suitable entrance matting. A little prevention goes a long way.

Clean for the use of the space. A busy shop entrance and a living room have different demands. An agreed care plan beats a one-size-fits-all weekly rule.

Which cleaner is safe for a polished concrete overlay?

Use cleaners approved for your sealer. “For concrete” on the bottle is not enough. Check dilution, rinsing and equipment with us or your installer.

Check with the installer before using acids, bleach, degreasers, abrasives or steam equipment. If a stain stays put, ask for advice. Stronger chemicals are not automatically the answer.

What should you do about spills and damage?

Deal with spills promptly, following the approved instructions. If you need help with a stain, tell us what was spilled. It makes the advice much more useful.

Talk to us about changes in appearance, wear or damage before trying a repair. Some variation belongs to a hand-finished cementitious floor. We can help work out whether you’re seeing natural patina or something that needs attention.

How do you plan long-term maintenance?

Keep the handover documents with the cleaners and facilities team. Agree who will assess the sealer, what to look out for and how to plan future maintenance.

There’s no single resealing interval or cleaning recipe for every PSR floor. Send us your installation details and we’ll advise on yours.
